Optimal Stochastic Deployment of Heterogeneous Energy Storage in a Residential Multienergy Microgrid With Demand-Side Management

The optimal deployment of heterogeneous energy storage (HES), mainly consisting electrical and thermal storage, is essential for increasing the holistic utilization efficiency multienergy systems. Consequently, this article proposes a risk-averse method HES in residential microgrid (RMEMG), considering diverse uncertainties demand-side management (DSM). Apart from size location planning, its investment phase also determined by maximizing system equivalent daily profit (EDP) minimizing risk. To handle renewable sources, power demands, outdoor temperature, hot water needs, multistage adaptive stochastic optimization approach utilized. Then, through constraint linearization scenario sampling, original nonlinear model converted to mixed-integer linear programming one tested on an IEEE 33-bus distribution network based RMEMG. effectiveness proposed verified comparing it with existing practices. comparison results indicate that can effectively increase EDP more immune uncertainties. Besides, be practically applied emerging RMEMGs, such as smart buildings, intelligent homes, etc., which get long-term DSM contracts.
